OS Overhaul

Lately I've been looking at some competitor phones and devices and seeing how they look. As far as operating systems, I feel Android is making leaps into functionality as well as look.

Does anyone else feel that Blackberry should do a complete overhaul of it's OS as well has home screen. Not be similar to those of Palm, Android, or HTC but to be less business oriented and allow customization and functional abilities without the need to apply themes. I'm talking OS overhaul rather than just the look of the home screen.

As well as better control over memory leaks and added applications memory. Having a 8GB memory card means nothing if all my programs are restricted to a 28MB limit.

I feel what you're saying. I enjoy what 5.0 provides, but I feel its still lacking that "something" that could make it stand out.

I feel BB is getting to the point of iPhone where it's rely on the name to sale the product rather than the product selling itself. BB has made big steps into becoming more consumer friendly, which has made them a large competitor versus how they were 5-6 years ago.

So I commend them, I feel there is a step missing. Something has been overlooked to make Blackberries that "IT" device.

I agree and disagree. Blackberry isn't the phone to be meant for everyday play. It is meant for the working people in mind. I do however think that they should make a phone that is to the not hardcore work type people. I love the OS that is out now 5.0. I have a couple complaints, but I can't really complain because it works! One of the biggest issues I have is that the App memory is absolute crap!
